They look factory....
Anyone here familiar with these? The 416s are Altec but the tweeters are a mystery to me. PAIR VINTAGE ALTEC SPEAKERS 15 INCH BASS 416-8A & TWEETERS | eBay

I told the seller they weren't Altec cabs, didn't seem to care.

Thanks everyone. The EV connection makes sense considering the first time seller is calling them 'Altec EVT' speakers. I was thinking of bidding on them for the 416-8A's, but I really need a pair of 416-8B's to finish my M19 project. If anyone has a pair of 416-8B's to sell, feel free to message me!

There is no such thing as an "Altec EVT" they are home made boxes with Altec woofs and EV tweets.

Call me confused, but I thought that 416-8A's would have the old style frame. What's the diffence between the 8A's and 8B's with the same late model frame?
Altec never really retired any design they still had re-cone kits and motor parts for regardless of what the catalogs indicated, so AFAIK, only the basket and wider mounting gasket are different. 15", 16" 416-8A Vs an 8B: Altec_416_8A_8B_02-1.jpg

The "B" is the only 416 that uses an alnico magnet in a 1 piece cast magnetic return pot. The rest of the alnico 416's use a 2 piece assembly that's made from steel pipe and plate welded together. What's the diffence between the 8A's and 8B's with the same late model frame?
I'm thinking it's from a factory that wasn't Altec's.I'm thinking it's factory and.................
It's basic form reminds me of the Heath AS-101. But, i am not suggesting it's a Heath cabinet, i really have no clue.
